About Lovell’s Florist and Nursery in Medfield, MA

George and LaVerne Lovell Smiling
The history of Lovell’s Florist & Nursery is full of hard work and a love for what we do. George and LaVerne Lovell, built their business on the philosophy of great quality and service. They believed in treating customers the way they would like to be treated. So far, it’s working, as one of the most impressive points about Lovell’s Florist & Nursery in Medfield, MA, is that it’s still going strong in the same community almost 50 years later.

LaVerne and George both graduated from Norwood High School. They married in 1968 and later moved to Dover, Massachusetts. That same year, they were approached by a real estate agent about this “fabulous” opportunity on Route 109 in Medfield. The Pederzinis’ were selling a greenhouse with a rental house and two acres of land. George had been running his own successful landscaping business for 13 years and thought this was an opportunity for the future.

Our Shop Today

Several decades later, the nursery is 20 acres, and we now have a retail florist, greenhouse, garden center, and Accents By Lovell Gift Shop, plus a wholesale division.  Sadly in 2019, George passed away after a long and valiant battle with cancer, remaining on-site daily throughout his battle. George's memory lives on strongly within our company and in our hearts.  LaVerne is on-site most days, but also finds time to enjoy her 7 grandchildren and Cape Cod. Currently, three generations of Lovell's work at the business.

Meet LaVerne and her staff by visiting their shop today. They enjoy working with customers on all kinds of orders.
